KD Drywall Frames for 1-3/4" Doors

Daybar K Series Standard Frames are for use with 1-3/4” steel or wood doors. They are available in a variety of standard and non-standard sizes for use in a broad range of wood or metal stud wall constructions.

DW18 & DW16 K frames can be installed in 1 or 3 pieces (1 head, 1 hinge jamb, and 1 strike jamb) and are brake formed for tight fitting mitres.

Available in 18 or 16 gauge A40 galvanneal steel, they are recommended for interior or exterior commercial, industrial, and residential applications. They are to be installed after wall construction.

DW 18 Gauge K Series Standard Drywall Frame Specifications

3-Piece Knock-Down frames for 1-3/4” bevelled Hollow Metal or Wood Doors; designed for easy and rigid installation.

DW 350K (3-1/2" wall thickness): Suitable for 2-1/2” Metal or 2” x 3” Wood Studs with 1/2” drywall each side. Also may be field assembled for 1 piece installation as the wall is being built.

DW 462K (4-5/8" wall thickness): Suitable for 3-5/8” Metal or 2” x 4” Wood Studs with 1/2” drywall each side. Also may be field assembled for 1 piece installation as the wall is being built.

DW 487K (4-7/8" wall thickness): Suitable for 3-5/8” Metal or 2” x 4” Wood Studs with 5/8” drywall each side. Also may be field assembled for 1 piece installation as the wall is being built. May also be used with 2-1/2” Metal or 2” x 3” Wood Studs with single layers of 1/2” and 5/8” drywall each side.

DW 525K (5-1/4" wall thickness): Suitable for 3-5/8” Metal or 2” x 4” Wood Studs with 1/2” drywall each side and double layer 1/2” drywall one side. When required a Resilient clip may be used in place of one layer of 1/2” drywall. Also may be field assembled for 1 piece installation as the wall is being built.

DW 675K (6-3/4" wall thickness): Suitable 2” x 6” Wood Studs with 5/8” drywall each side. Also may be field assembled for 1 piece installation as the wall is being built.

Doors: For 1-3/4" bevelled Solid Core Wood Doors, Hollow Metal Doors, or Fiberglass Doors. Frames are sized to accommodate undersized doors. Nominal door size is FRAME WIDTH minus 3/16" and FRAME HEIGHT minus 3/4".

Sizes: Single Doors (3-hinge): 2'0", 2'4", 2'6", 2'8, 2'10", 3'0"; (4-hinge): 3'4", 3'6", 3'8" x 6'8"or 7'0". Double Doors (3-hinge): 4'0", 5'0", 6'0".

Frame Material: 18 or 16 gauge A40 Galvanneal Steel (A60 available).

Hinge Preparation: Prepared for 1-1/2 pairs of 4-1/2” x 4” Template Hinges. (Hinges by others). Regular Weight .134”.

Strike Preparation: With ANSI. 1-1/4” x 4-7/8” Strike Assembly.

Strike Reinforcement: Standard ANSI A155.1 14 Gauge.

Silencers: Prepared for 3 Rubber Silencers – Type 64.

Anchors: Frames may be used with either masonry or drywall partitions using the appropriate anchors.

4 Wall Anchor Styles

Finishing: Passivated for easy paint application.

Fire Labelling: Supplied with an embossed 45 minute to 90 minute fire label for single and double frames in drywall or masonry installation.
3 hour fire label (except 350K) available for masonry installation only. Maximum size for single doors: 3’8” x 7’0”. Maximum size for double doors: 6’0” x 7’0”.
